Mobiconf Conference – a CE’s trigger for mobile evolution

Is it possible to bring over 400 mobile geeks together in a cinema theatre? And speakers including Apple, Zalando, Facebook, Pinterest, Asos, Miquido? And inspirational talks, only best practices, and one epic party? Check a quick roundup of the 4th edition of Mobiconf. The devil’s in the detail, so let’s get cracking.

Knowledge & experience sharing – the idea of Mobiconf

Mobiconf is a conference with an international character. The goal is to share knowledge focused on apps development for iOS and Android platforms. Yet it’s only a tip of an iceberg. Topics covered also user interface design, motion design, and user experience best practices. Several talks are focusing also on mobile in business and interesting case studies.

People love getting new experience and networking. It’s also one of the reasons why mobile experts choose Mobiconf. This year’s speakers had risen standards very high. Raymond Ho (Visual Lead at Zalando) shared his best practices how to create great UX. Johan Adda (ex-Apple) was talking about the future of mobile, changes & trends in the industry. Covered the design for biometrics, moving from responsive to adaptive projects, and the impact of video in social media.

iOS path with 5+ rating

Mobiconf Top Speaker Award winners John Sundell (Hyper) and Rahul Malik (Pinterest) have brought down the house. John revealed step by step how to create great APIs in Swift. He shared also a package of best practices, to create better solutions in less time. He nailed it and participants now try this approach in all programming languages.

Rahul took the real life at Pinterest as an example. The real problems to solve at a global brand and experience from it turned out to be a very desirable.

Android audience bigger than expected

Novelties on Android platform attracted the whole room of attendees. And they weren’t disappointed. Two speakers need to be highlighted. Savvas Dalkitsis (Asos) helped to understand challenging migration a mature code base to Kotlin. So the experience shared by Savvas turned to be priceless. Nicola Corti (Yelp) took everyone closer to building UI Consistent Android Apps, and it was groovy.

Integration & networking

Without these two above conferences are pointless. That’s why Miquido, the Mobiconf organizer, did something special to make attendees relaxed and happy. As an appetizer – a big booth with retro games and computers. In the evening – attendees took over the B4 club in the heart of Krakow’s nightlife.
