Creating a high-quality travel booking app was a real UX challenge for the Miquido team. To cater to individual needs and navigate multiple offers, the app needed specific features. A profile system was essential for storing user preferences and search histories, ensuring a personalized experience. A user-friendly interface would translate these preferences into a seamless booking process. This way, users could easily sift through travel options and make informed decisions.
Access to self-bookings
Our main goal was to improve the accuracy and relevance of personalized recommendations. To provide an efficient holiday self-booking app, we needed features for smooth research, data security, and safe payments. TUI aimed to deliver a tool that lets users navigate offers, compare results, and book trips directly from their smartphones.
Secure payments
A simplified and secure payment process was essential for hassle-free transactions and quick purchases. Ensuring airtight security for storing and processing user payment details was key to building trust. Balancing convenience with top-notch security standards was crucial for maintaining user confidence in the app.
Accessibility of booking services Â
Having noticed the steadily growing number of travel industry customers, TUI Poland decided to launch a mobile app. The application was supposed to enable users to search and book their dream vacation on their own, as travel agencies operating stationary within specific hours were frequently out of reach for most people working from 9 to 5. The low accessibility of a booking service was a constraint that a travel app could break by enabling customers to research and make holiday bookings at any convenient time.
Solutions
User-friendly travel app for self-booking
Miquido developed a visually appealing and user-friendly app that allows users to plan their holidays independently. The app includes a contextual search for more relevant travel results based on hotel criteria. With the myTUI profile, search settings and user data are saved for future use.
Logged-in users can add travel offers to favorites, receive push notifications when trips become available, and access chat assistance before and during their stay. The app provides info on travel plans, transfer details, and on-site excursions. Users can choose preferred hotel rooms, transfer types, and additional insurance, all within the app.
Enhancing usability with myTUI profiles
To enhance usability, we introduced myTUI, a personal profile storing user data and preferences. This allows the app to provide tailored recommendations and a smooth booking experience. Detailed filtering options let users specify accommodation preferences by amenities, location, price range, and more. Logged-in users can quickly access their reservation list, including active, canceled, and historical bookings. Reservation details are easily accessible, allowing users to preview flight details and documents, and track payment statuses.

The TUI app features a highly intuitive, user-friendly interface that simplifies browsing and booking. Interactive filters, sorting options, and personalized recommendations based on user preferences and past bookings enhance the experience and expedite decision-making. Users receive instant booking confirmations and real-time updates on reservation status.
The app ensures a smooth and secure payment process. With myTUI, users can save payment details for future use, balancing convenience and security. Immediate notifications confirm successful transactions. Users can choose between PayU and credit card payments, completing transactions seamlessly within the app.
